I always turn to the air fryer whenever it comes to reheating leftovers. It is a perfect way to reheat steak air fryer that tastes as warm, crispy, and delicious as the first time it was made.
Once you use the air fryer reheating method, you will never go back to any other method. Users also use this method because it saves you time, is much faster than a stove, and doesn’t spoil your fun the first time.
How to Reheat Steak Air Fryer?
Steak is one of the dishes that are traditionally not reheated the next day, or you have never tried to reheat in the air fryer.
I am going to tell you the easiest and best way to reheat steak.
Step No. 1: Set the air fryer’s temperature to 350 degrees.
Step No: 2 Depending on size and thickness, place your leftover steak in the air fryer and cook for 3 to 5 minutes.
Step No: 3 A thick steak cut might require an extra one to two minutes. When the steak has been properly warmed and has reached the desired internal temperature, it is done cooking.
Step No: 4 Reheated steak should be taken out of the air fryer, rested for five minutes, and then eaten.
Remember to use salt and pepper as you would for a brand new steak. This is because overnight refrigeration removes the flavour of the salt and pepper from the meat. It’s as if you suddenly had a steak without any spice.
Reheating Steak in an Air Fryer Over an Oven: Advantages
When you heat leftover steak in an oven its a risk of overheating the meat, so the only option is to try to cook it slowly.
When done correctly, this method usually works, but it does require patience and care. So I prefer to reheat it for only 5 minutes, so the air fryer is best to reheat the food.
Can steak be Reheated two Times?
Due to food safety, they can only be reheated at one time. If you have a lot of steaks that you need to reheat, just do enough on one side and then cook the rest of your steak later.
Can Steak Be Reheated In An Air Fryer?
There is no doubt that an air fryer can be used to reheat steak, but keep the slices a little thin instead of thick whenever they cook quickly.
Note: You can put various steaks together in the air fryer because your task is just to reheat rather than to cook your steak. For instance, the ribeye, sirloin, and rump in the photo below were air-fried:
Burritos with Steak and Beans
This is a recipe that we like to make with leftover steak. How many steaks do you have and how many people are you trying to feed.
- Pinto beans
- Leftover steak
- Garlic Powder
- shredded cheese
- Sour Cream Salsa
Then warm the cold steak in a fryer according to the guide. The tortillas and the can of beans should be heated. Add cheese and half to one teaspoon of garlic powder to the heated beans. Spread the beans out evenly over the tortillas, then top with thin steak slices. Add more cheese, cilantro, sour cream, and salsa on top. Enjoy them while folded!

- The steak should be placed on a rack over a baking sheet.
- Cook the steak on the tray in the oven for 20–30 minutes, or until thoroughly cooked.
- Simply sear on the heat in an iron skillet for 30 seconds on each side if you want the outside to be crunchy.
Steak Reheating on the Stove
- Heat one tablespoon of oil over medium heat in a cast-iron skillet.
- Put the steak in the heated pan and reduce the heat to medium-low.
- Cook for about 3–4 minutes, then turn the heat to low and cook for a further 3–4 minutes, or until heated.
Grilling a Steak to Reheat
- Warm up the steak to room temperature.
- Turn on the grill. It can reach a temperature of 400 °F.
- Over medium-high heat, sear the steak for one minute on each side.
- Then transfer the steak to a location with indirect heat, away from the direct heat.
- Cook for 4-5 minutes with the grill covered.
Steak reheating in the microwave
Yes, you can reheat steak in the microwave, albeit it is not my preferred method. Although it might overcook and get a little tough, if it’s your only alternative, it will work.
- Place the steak on a microwave-safe dish after wrapping it in a wet paper towel.
- Cook for one minute in a half-powered microwave.
- Heat for 30 seconds at a time until the required temperature is reached.
Reheating Steak Tips
Thicker. A thicker steak will reheat more effectively and maintain its moisture.
Steak that is rare reheats better. The steak would taste better if it was cooked to a more moderate degree of rareness before being reheated.
Extra fat When reheated, a fattier steak, such as ribeye, will be juicier than a thin steak.
Longer period. The thickness of your steak will determine how long it takes for it to heat through. Add one minute at a time to the cooking time if the mixture is a little thicker because it will take longer to heat through.
